Contributing
OpenXML4J has not yet been released, so to make it faster and better and to bring to the community a project of quality we need your support and your contribution !
To maintain an implementation and a code of quality, it’s easily understandable that we can’t allow anyone to join the core developer team and to be able to modify the source repository. To prevent such a situation, each contributor have to fulfill several trivial rules:
Admission:
- Strong involvement and free time to spare your time to the project,
- To be active in the community in the last few month (or less depending on tha amount and the quality of contributions),
- Fill all required skills needed to accomplish defined tasks
In addition to these obvious criteria and in order for the team to continue to work in a harmonious environment, we try to choose only people that would not break the pleasant work atmosphere. To prevent a future contributor to deteriorate the way we interact each other, the core developer team only choose people who are serious, enjoyable and have a compatible mood with the team.
A project development needs of course developers, but it is not by far the only category of people we need! Here is a summary of the different profiles we’re looking for:
Roles:
- User : OpenXML4J users who provides great feedbacks in the available trackers
- Hacker (not cracker :p) : defined as an advanced user as well as a good developer who is capable of fixing open bugs and providing enhancements to the core developers team.
- Developer : developer who helps the core development team to build the API and other subprojects
